Sapphire Land & Water delivers expert environmental science across hydrology, GIS, and landscape assessment. We assist landholders and developers meet their regulatory obligations with precision and confidence.
What We Do
Comprehensive environmental science from initial assessment through to statutory reporting and ongoing monitoring.
Catchment analysis, streamflow assessment, geospatial inundation mapping, hydrological risk characterisation, water balance studies, and hydrological simulation to support development applications and land management decisions.
Professional spatial data collection, analysis, and cartographic output. Mapping land use, vegetation, waterways, and infrastructure to underpin environmental assessments and planning submissions.
Preparation of statutory environmental reports, management plans, and compliance documentation to satisfy conditions of consent, development approvals, and regulatory obligations at all levels of government.
Detailed field-based assessment of landscape condition, land capability, vegetation health, and erosion risk — providing landholder and developer clients with the evidence base needed for planning and management decisions.

Darryl Lindner is a senior environmental professional and hydrologist with over 25 years of experience spanning utility, state government, federal government, and consulting sectors. He specialises in catchment hydrology and water resource and water quality modelling, having led the development, calibration and operation of complex hydrological models for government and industry clients across Australia and internationally. He has consistently undertaken senior lead roles in multi-disciplinary teams developing models designed to assess rural and urban water security, and impacts to river ecosystems from land use change, population growth, climate change and contaminant discharge.
An expert practitioner of the eWater Source modelling framework, Darryl contributed to its software testing, development, and authored key sections of the national Source User Guide. He has strong experience also in IQQM and REALM, is proficient in Visual Basic and Python, and has developed applied skills in AI-assisted automation of technical workflows including data analysis, image analysis and reporting. He maintains an active professional relationship with the eWater software development team and the broader Source modelling community.
Darryl is a long-term Bega Valley resident with a deep commitment to regional water management and community service delivery, and an interest in contributing to ecohydrological assessment, environmental water management and natural resource monitoring in south-east NSW.
